Chania and the peninsula of Akrotiri

We Begin on the peninsula of Akrotiri, north - east of Chania, where you will visit the monastery Tzagarolon (Aghia Triada). Built in the 17th century by two brothers - monks who had converted to the Orthodox faith - Agia Triada is one of the largest monasteries of Crete. Unfortunately, Turks destroyed most of the treasures in 1821. Afterwards, embark on a small city tour in the old town of Chania and see the old venetian fortifications (they started being built in 1538), but now only the eastern and western parts have survived. Your walking tour around the old town and Venetian port will allow you to visit the most important sites (the Archaeological Museum, the Cathedral, the ‘leather lane’ and the Market Hall) but also plenty exciting, hidden spots off the beaten track, spots that reflect the eclectic mix of influences that has given Chania its unique atmosphere.
